Pattaya Daily Update - News & Music Event Update Pattaya: The 10th Anniversary & Re-opening Party Hard Rock Hotel Pattaya

The 10th Anniversary & Re-opening Party Hard Rock Hotel Pattaya

In its 10th year, and after a 15-month programme of construction work which began in October 2010, Hard Rock Hotel Pattaya is pleased to announce the end of its renovation this coming 12th December 2011. The works started with guest rooms, working upwards floor by floor, and continued to public areas; The Hotel entrance, reception, lobby, bar, restaurants and other amenities. It now sports a distinctly renewed, grown-up aesthetic, bringing a touch of bling and glamour back to Pattaya.

On the weekend of 16th December, the Hotel will be celebrating its re-launch and the 10th Anniversary in grand style.

To kick off the three-day celebration, Rockin Friday 16th starts at 6.35pm with a guitar smash at the hotel entrance with invited guests, rock stars and friends of Hard Rock Pattaya. It is followed by a gastronomic feast in Starz Diner and Pizzeria. At 8.00pm, Indie Thai band Circle Green kick things off at the main stage with the launch of their new electro-tinged alternative rock album, followed by spectacular fireworks. Modern Dog, perhaps the most emblematic mega-Thai band of the last decade, take over the main stage at 9pm with their string of hots and classic songs, and things wind up with this year’s Coke Music Award winners, Somkiet, playing live at the Hard Rock Cafe Moondeck at 10.00pm.

On Saturday Funky, the 17th, at 9.20pm, the popular Thai band Jetset’er kick things off at the main stage with their brand of funky pop hits, preceded by a fireworks bonanza courtesy of The Pattaya International Fireworks competition. At about 10.30pm, recording artist Alice Russell from the UK plays live next with her band on the main stage. Regarded by many as one of the finest vocalist the UK has seen in the past few years, delivering bags of foot-taping and finger poppin funky soul & blues, some have likened her style to a mix between Amy Winehouse and Adele, but we know her as simply Alice Russell (see www.alicerussell.com for more info and videos).

Late night, things move on to the poolside with the destination landmark and legendary Foam X Party, with German DJ Christian Prommer dropping deep & funky-tech-house. Prommer is one of the most respected producers, re-mixers and DJs in Europe. His recent album with Alex Barck from Jazzanova builds up and confirms his immense reputation. (see www.christianprommer.com for more info)

On Jazzy Sunday, the very cool The Nu Sextet, one of the most talented groupings of home grown Thai talent takes the stage during the Sunday Jazz brunch at Starz Diner & Pizzeria, after some great family entertainment care of our very own Rock Agent team, at the Junior Rock Stage. Things wind down with 70's Jazz on vinyl spun by guest DJs Mike and Electrojazzjorge at the Shack Bar and around the poolside.

Entrance fee for Friday 16th is THB 1,000 per person including tickets to Circle Green, Modern Dog, Somkiet and 3 drinks or THB 1,300++ - Bottle Pkg, inc. entrance for 4.

Saturday 17th is THB 1,000 per person including tickets to Jetset’er, Alice Russell and 3 drinks. THB 480 to Foam X Party with DJ Christian Prommer, including 1 drink.

Sunday 18th is free of charge.
