Pattaya Daily Update - News Update Pattaya: Siam Country Club Pattaya New Course

Pattaya Daily Update - News Update Pattaya: Siam Country Club Pattaya New Course

Siam Motors Group selects IMG, a world giant company in sport, entertainment, and media, to launch a mega golf course center in Thailand, Siam Country Club Pattaya New Course. The new development of Siam Motors Group land in Pattaya will become a true center of golf courses in Thailand. The New Course will feature Waterfront and Friendly golf course concepts but will hold the same championship qualities of the successes of the Old Course (18-hole) and Plantation (27-hole) on the property next door, which are already renowned golf courses among the best in Asia Pacific. In the future, options may be opened to both domestic and international investors to become involved in the project. It is a confidence that the New Course will be ready to open around March 2014.

Dr. Phornthep Phornprapha, Chairman of Thongthaworn Pattana Co.,Ltd. revealed that this property development project in Pattaya is ready for the creation of Siam Country Club Pattaya New Course and will be truly a golf heaven. The Water-theme 18-hole, par 72, 7,489 yards covering the area of 525 rai (200 acres) will involve investment of over 500 million baht, not including the land. The course will be designed by IMG Golf Course Design, one of the world renowned golf course architect and expert in world sport and event managements, and will regenerate and enhance the property worthy of future domestic and international investment. Strict environment cares, esthetic beauty, challenge and friendly play are the emphasis of the New Course design with the absolute distinct differences from the famous Old Course and Plantation.

Golfers will experience creation of design in harmony with nature. With many water-feature holes, Signature Hole will be a memorable one. Course design will be strategic with locations of lakes and creeks in play. The back tee will challenge the best. At the same time, the regular tee will offer enjoyment for all golfers. Let’s not forget the charm, well manner, and knowledgeable caddies of Siam Country Club Pattaya who will make your day memorable. Much emphasis have been given to challenge golfers and, most important, happiness at the end of the day. The addition of the New Course together with Old Course and Plantation will fulfill the greatness and elevate Siam Country Club Pattaya to the leading status of a true golf heaven in Asia. Highlight of Siam Country Club Pattaya New Course will also include the clubhouse with 180 degree view of the beauty of the course, lakes, creeks and landscape blending with natural surroundings.

Dr. Phornthep Phornprapha, son of Dr. Thaworn Phornprapha, founder of Siam Country Club, revived his father vision of a quality international standard golf course in Thailand by the decision to completely renovate the Old Course and simultaneously build another 27-hole Plantation in the nearby property. Quality and international standard were the emphasis. The investment of both courses

was 800 million baht using Schmidt & Curley Design, Inc., another world renowned golf course architect, to perform the tasks. The thought of the decision was to create distinctly different style golf courses, which can beconsidered as the opening of the golf heaven. The successes of both courses are proven by having been chosen as the host venue for 5 consecutive years from 2007 by LPGA Thailand tournaments to present. The LPGA Thailand tournaments broadcast live for 4 days reaching 800 million households in 200 countries. The significance of LPGA tournaments not only reflect the beauty, quality, and acknowledgement of the courses in Asia but also support tourism industry and build the confidence back to Thailand. Siam Country Club still holds land to be developed in excess of 2,000 rai (800 acres). The cooperation with IMG group with long experience and expertise in world sport management is only a foundation of a future relationship to come such as a true international standard golf academy or other sport academies.

The region of Pattaya has been recognized for a long time as a heaven for golfers as well as families to enjoy. The areas of Siam Country Club Pattaya also have many attractive destinations for everyone to enjoy. Not only the clean, fresh air and panoramic view of the city of Pattaya, other attractions include the Three Kingdom Museum, Wat Khao Chee Jant, Wat Khao Pho Thong. Within the property of Siam Country Club, other interests and worthy visits are Thammasart University Pattaya Campus, Dr. Thaworn Phornprapha Hall of Fame (founder of Thailand automotive industries), Church of Assumption, Siam Motors Train Garden, Siam Motors Train and Railway Station, Nong Ta Oon municipal hospital, and Boonthaworn Temple, which situates on the hilltop of no. 9 hole at the Old Course (100 meters from clubhouse) where you can visit to pay respect and view the most magnificent panorama view of Pattaya.

Pattaya Daily Update - News Update Pattaya: Muay Thai stadium opens in Pattaya

Pattaya Daily Update - News Update Pattaya: Muay Thai stadium opens in Pattaya

Pattaya City has added a new attraction for Muay Thai fans following the opening of Pattaya Boxing World last week.

Pattaya Boxing World is located inside Mini Siam on Sukhumvit Road, in North Pattaya. The project cost Bt20 million and claims to be the first professional standard Thai boxing stadium on the eastern seaboard that can seat 700 spectators.

The move was welcomed by the resort’s travel industry as a positive development to broaden Pattaya’s ability to host professional sports events.

Tour groups are the main target and special concessionary rates and commission are being offered to tour companies to get tour buses to drop off groups to see the bouts.

Usually attractions need to pay tour companies, or their tour guides 35% to 40% of the entrance fee, to get a regular flow of tourists to sustain business. While walk-in customers are welcome they are represent a small percentage of the business and mainly limited to weekends.

There will be three rounds of Thai boxing daily starting from 1800 and the organisers will host International Thai boxing competitions.

Thai boxing (Muay Thai) has a wide following, worldwide and is featured regularly on sports channels in Europe, the US and Australia.

The new attraction was created to respond to Muay Thai’s growing popularity especially in markets such as India, China, Russia, Japan and Vietnam.

Pattaya Daily Update - News Update Pattaya: Church of the Assumption Pattaya

Inspired by the dedication of its leader, Dr.Phornthep Phornprapha who, as Honorary President of Siam Motors, has continued to develop the company in the spirit of its visionary founder, Dr.Thaworn Phornprapha, Siam Motors has carried out many activities tf and management. Together, they have been able to overcome every obstacle in developing and expanding successful networks.

To help its efforts in improving society, Siam Motors has dedicated a portion of its business profits to direct contributions to public charities as well as Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities. Past activities have included job creation and the development of human resources, all of which have ultimately helped the country as a whole to develop.

In addition, Dr.Thaworn Phornprapha has donated the title deed for 565 rai, 3 ngan, and 35 sq. wa of land to Thammasat University for the purposes of supporting education and religion and the conservation of art and culture, where the university will act as a hub for the development of national resource seminars. Siam Motors is also aware of the importance of improving the quality of life in Pattaya – that there should be a sanctuary for both Thai and foreign Christians.

Therefore, in January 2010, the company initiated a project to build the Church of the Assumption in Pattaya. The project is scheduled to be completed in August 2011. The Church of the Assumption, Pattaya, has been designed to incorporate innovative architectural concepts, under the theme of a “Modern building with a touch of Thai characteristics blending harmoniously with nature. With a budget of over 60 million baht, the Church of the Assumption, Pattaya, features a charming contemporary church design.

The sacred and peaceful church, coupled with a residential complex and a park, is situated on 21 rai of land. The total 3,000 sq.m. of land has been divided as follows: 1,500 sq.m. for the church, 180 sq.m. for stores, 100 sq.m. for restrooms, 700 sq.m. for pastors’ accommodation, 240 sq.m for worker’s accommodation, and the rest has been allocated to provide 80-100 lots of parking space.
The main features of the complex include:

Meticulous planning in relation to usage. Workers’ accommodation has been located next to the entrance for convenience in meeting with visitors. The accommodation for pastors comprises of a two storey building that includes a religious office for accommodating visitors, a drawing room, dining room, kitchen, and four bedrooms. The church building can accommodate a congregation of over 200 people for ceremonial purposes and the surrounding area is also available as an additional space. Other features include the pastors’ sacristy and confession box.

The external scenery can be clearly viewed from within the church which has been designed to give the impression of a merger between the external and internal scenery. A large mirror behind the altar clearly reflects giant trees and a beautiful natural backdrop. High walls on both sides of the church are designed to dissipate heat from direct sunlight and create a sensation of harmony.
Outside the church building is an area for stores selling religious articles, souvenirs and refreshments with 20-30 seats to accommodate visitors.

The restrooms are situated away from the buildings and are designed so as to be showered with natural light. The restrooms are well ventilated and surrounded by plants so that visitors can smell the freshness of nature. Most importantly, the Church of the Assumption Pattaya raises the idea of “Modern building with a touch of Thai characteristics blending harmoniously with nature.”

The first and only dedicated centre for Christians in Pattaya is beautiful, outstanding, and modern in ways unlike existing churches. This sacred space to worship God is also a place where the Children of God of all denominations can gather to conduct spiritual rites and worship God in accordance with the Christian faith and pay respects to their Maker with joy.
