Siam Motors Group selects IMG, a world giant company in sport, entertainment, and media, to launch a mega golf course center in Thailand, Siam Country Club Pattaya New Course. The new development of Siam Motors Group land in Pattaya will become a true center of golf courses in Thailand. The New Course will feature Waterfront and Friendly golf course concepts but will hold the same championship qualities of the successes of the Old Course (18-hole) and Plantation (27-hole) on the property next door, which are already renowned golf courses among the best in Asia Pacific. In the future, options may be opened to both domestic and international investors to become involved in the project. It is a confidence that the New Course will be ready to open around March 2014.
Dr. Phornthep Phornprapha, Chairman of Thongthaworn Pattana Co.,Ltd. revealed that this property development project in Pattaya is ready for the creation of Siam Country Club Pattaya New Course and will be truly a golf heaven. The Water-theme 18-hole, par 72, 7,489 yards covering the area of 525 rai (200 acres) will involve investment of over 500 million baht, not including the land. was 800 million baht using Schmidt & Curley Design, Inc., another world renowned golf course architect, to perform the tasks. The thought of the decision was to create distinctly different style golf courses, which can beconsidered as the opening of the golf heaven. The successes of both courses are proven by having been chosen as the host venue for 5 consecutive years from 2007 by LPGA Thailand tournaments to present. The LPGA Thailand tournaments broadcast live for 4 days reaching 800 million households in 200 countries. The significance of LPGA tournaments not only reflect the beauty, quality, and acknowledgement of the courses in Asia but also support tourism industry and build the confidence back to Thailand.
