Thailand’s resort city of Pattaya has been slowly but surely evolving its image from the playground and party town we all know, and many love so well, to a sophisticated destination that also caters to the more discerning high-end market.
Hotel chains took the first step in demonstrating their confidence in an upscale Pattaya. When luxury brands like the Sheraton, Centara Mirage and Hilton joined forces with Dusit, Royal Cliff and Marriott at the beach resort city people sat up and took notice.
Now it’s the luxury condominium developers who have taken up the baton and run with it. One local company redefining Pattaya’s skyline is the Tulip Group. If you haven’t heard the name yet, you will soon as its projects take shape and reach skywards.
This world-class property developer made the decision from day one that its plan for Pattaya would be nothing short of five-star.
That entails design, facilities, lifestyle and above all location, location, location.
“We decided to only develop in prime locations in and around Pattaya,” said Tulip CEO Kobi Elbaz. “Along with the best quality, upscale buyers want the beach front or central city locations. Some want to live here, others want a good investment and you have to combine both style and place to have a winning mix.”
Kobi Elbaz knows what he’s talking about when it comes to building in Pattaya. His Tulip Group is already known for its cutting-edge designs and luxurious style.
Currently being developed exclusively under the Tulip Group Brand are the stunning Centara Grand Residence on Na Jomtien beach, the Centara Avenue Residence and Suites in the city heart and the exciting 2 Billion Baht mega project with Park Plaza Hotels Europe – the Waterfront Suites and Residences in South Pattaya.
Kobi Elbaz has also developed and completed several projects in this city and nearby Bangkok through his partnership with Rony Fineman and the prolific Nova Group.
These include The Cliff, Amari Residence, Pattaya-Novana Residence and Nova Ocean View. In addition to this Tulip Group also own, run and manage ‘A & G Technology’ – a worldwide leader in aluminium and glass manufacturing with a 10,000 SQM production facility in Rayong.
It’s the company’s Waterfront project that’s turning heads right now. This 50 Storey hotel and condominium overlooks the entire area of Pattaya Bay and Pattaya City.
Perched under the iconic Pattaya City sign it is literally on the edge of town. Out front are the city’s Bali Hai pier and an esplanade where the shoreline will be re-developed into a first-class marina. Its location also commands views over the neighboring tropical islands of Koh Larn, Koh Krok and Koh Phai.
Waterfront residents will enjoy outstanding facilities and privacy, in a location that puts the entire city easily within reach.
The Tulip Group understands the true value of mixed use development, combining condominium and hotel in one project. Their partnership with the London-based Park Plaza Hotels Europe brings the European chain into Asia for the first time.
The hotel group currently has 25 Park Plaza hotels and art’otels, with 5,508 rooms in operation. Park Plaza also part owns Arenaturist, one of Croatia’s leading hospitality companies, and operates 8 hotels and 5 apartment complexes, with a total of 2,868 rooms and 7 campsites in Istria, Croatia.
Chairman of Park Plaza Hotels Europe, Eli Papouchado, loves Pattaya and says this will be both a landmark development for the resort location and an important part of the group’s property portfolio.
“We are very excited to add Pattaya to our list of great Park Plaza destinations”, he said. “This project demonstrates our commitment to one of the most dynamic resort cities in the Asian region”.
So when it comes to developing luxury condominiums, why does Tulip Group partner with hotels?
“It’s a combination of things,” said Kobi Elbaz. “People have confidence if they see a brand they know and trust. On top of this, five star hotels know and understand the importance of delivering great service and we want our buyers to have the best.”
Based on that desire, Park Plaza Hotels Europe will provide full hotel management.
For many buyers, Waterfront Suites and Residences will be an amazing place to call home when the project reaches completion in 3 years.
Besides the 100 hotel rooms, this 50-story tower will also consist of 300 residences. Within the walls of the Waterfront residence you will find finishes made of imported marble and granite, custom-designed kitchens and spacious floor-to-ceiling windows.
Protected by tinted impact glassed skin on the outside, the condos feature everything you’d expect in lavish living and more. The building is also designed to fit its beautiful location with big spacious balconies.
This high tech gem is both beautiful on the outside as well as in the inside. Its design incorporates architectural elegance, glamour and state-of-the-art building technology.
Other facilities will include a restaurant, landscaped pools and a private speedboat for Waterfront residents. If living on the edge appeals to you, there’s no doubt that Waterfront Residence and Suites will be one of the most sought-after addresses in Thailand.
Is Pattaya ready for a place like this? You can bet it is.
