Hospitality News Update: Pattaya Marriott Resort & Spa will be in the dark for an hour to support ‘Earth Hour’ on Saturday March 31st

There will be a dark scene on Saturday March 31st, 2012 when, for one hour, between 20.30-21.30 hrs. Pattaya Marriott Resort & Spa will be switching off its exterior lights, in support of the World Wildlife Fund’s ‘Earth Hour’. Guests at Pattaya Marriott Resort & Spa who pledge not use electricity, in their rooms, during Earth Hour will be given a seed package.

Earth Hour is an annual international event created by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) held on the last Saturday of March and asks households and businesses to turn off their non-essential lights and electrical appliances, for one hour, to raise awareness towards the need to take action on climate change.

Earth Hour also marked the start of Marriott International’s Environmental Awareness Month. Running throughout April, the event aims to celebrate the company’s commitment to environmentally responsible operations, raise awareness of environmental issues, and involve associates in environmental activities.
