Hospitality News Pattaya City: Dusit Thani Pattaya celebrates its ASEAN Green Hotel Standard award
Chatchawal Supachayanont (middle, left), general manager of Dusit Thani Pattaya is joined by the hotel’s Green Team members as they are congratulated by Dr Jiraphol Sinthunava, vice-president of the Green Leaf Foundation for having been awarded the ASEAN Green Hotel Standard 2012-2014 recognition along with nine other hotels in Thailand at this year’s ASEAN Green Hotel Recognition Awards 2012 held in Manado, Indonesia.
The other ASEAN hotels that received recognition for their environmental efforts included those from Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. In Thailand, the resorts and hotels were from Loei, Chiang Mai, Phuket, Koh Samui, Hua Hin, Bangkok and Pattaya. Dusit Thani Pattaya has maintained its eco-friendly status since it embraced the green initiatives it has initiated more than ten years ago which have resulted in more awards from various environmental organisations recognising the work of the resort’s own Green Team Committee under the management and supervision of Mr Supachayanont.
